CALL TO ORDER: 7:10 PM MINUTES: Reviewed - accepted.
UNFINISHED BUSINEES:
a. “Mansions at Canyon Ridge” (formerly Mansions on Scantic) – Too muddy.
b. East Windsor River Guide /SRWA Guides – Chair has some, updated version coming
out.
c. Canoe Trips on Scantic – None yet.
d. Flood (River) Review – Chair walked the river, showed pictures of the largest snags.
e. Trail Markers – None placed until trail in better shape.
f. Membership – Interest is being shown.
OLD BUSINESS:
a. After initial presentation to the Board of Selectmen, a meeting has been scheduled for
July 8, 10AM, with DEP rep, our First Selectman, the Town’s insurance agent and our
liaison, Ed Farrell, any commission members are welcomed to attend.
The purchase of the Hensel property is back on track to go forward.
NEW BUSINESS:
a. Discussion covered Scantic River Park in Enfield getting “greenway”, area from Somersville to Hazardville. With this status came a grant of $5,000.
b. Member Tom said the SRWA canoe trip of 6/14 had 28 boats/36 participants, it was chaotic but fun.
c. Chair spoke again of plans to remove Springborn Dam above Powder Hollow. Enfield activity eventually will benefit East Windsor section of Scantic.
